I had to stay up late last night to watch the live feed from NASA in order to make certain that Curiosity actually landed okay, in order to avoid a “Dewey Defeats Truman” conundrum. Mind you, watching the live feed was way freaking cool, but still! The things I do for you people.

Dr. Phil Plait came to Portland last Wednesday night for an OMSI-sponsored talk based on part of his excellent book, “Death From The Skies.” Couple that excellent evening experience with the recent Mars Science Laboratory landing and, well, here you go. Now, I’m probably being unfair to that “Bourne” movie without Bourne in it. As of this writing, I’ve not actually seen the thing. But that doesn’t stop me from making fun of it via my ducks, now does it?
