Belaboring A Point
I don’t have a political statement to make, I’m just amused, that’s all.
One of the few Garfield comic strips I still find funny (in my own weird way) reads, “Labor Day, Labor Day, what a dumb day. Hire some jerk, then send him away. To celebrate work by playing all day.”
Not that I mind having a three-day weekend, of course. I’m not completely insane.

Oddly enough, I remember that “joke” from an old B.C. comic: “Labor Day, schmabor day, what a stupid day. To celebrate work by playing all day.”
It shouldn’t surprise me that Jim Davis would’ve lifted one of the few memorable bits from someone else’s comic…
Garfield was never exactly open-minded about Mondays, after all.
