All I have to say about Avatar is to ignore whatever political/sociological/whatever subtexts that so very many people are trying to impress upon everyone else that /they/ believe are present in the movie. It’s a lush, gorgeous, fun movie to watch. It should be enjoyed for exactly that. (And now that I’ve seen the 2-D, I’m dying to go watch it in 3-D before it exits theaters!)
It’s not that I’m pooh-poohing the movie itself, it’s that I have a service to render here: That of making fun of things. *wry grin*
