This new duck and several others (one of which you’ll see Monday) comes to us courtesy of a friend met via City Of Heroes who goes by Janlee. He went to London on vacation a while back and found some very British ducks, so he bought them and shipped ’em my direction once he got back Stateside.
You know, I should point out that I’m not actually a duck collector. My goal isn’t to have hundreds of the things. With that said… it always boggles my mind that someone would take the time & trouble to acquire and mail ducks to a near-stranger, someone known only through the Internet. (See also: The inestimable Wonderduck.)
It’s awesome, and humbling, and awesome. Yes, I said “awesome” twice. Deal with it.

Indubitably!
Think of it as an expanding cast.
Not something you would want on a leg.
In truth, we’d all really like to be you, only we don’t have the storage space. 🙂
Trust me, I don’t really have the storage space either. Which reminds me, I should take a picture of the new shelf (which is already full, and is just an overflow shelf, and doesn’t have enough room for all the Other Ducks, and… yeah).
I have a box full of ducks somewhere because I had ONE duck on top of my computer in college and then EVERYONE gave me one. I’d be happy to mail all of them to you.
That’s how my Flock got started too… I gave a duck to someone who was having a rough time (“A rubber duck is always happy, after all!”), and she gave me one in return a few months later. Then at Christmas, I was given a few, since the first one (Scooter the Wonderduck) was on a bookshelf in my dormroom. Then more arrived on my birthday…
I don’t know what happened to the rest of them, but I still have Scooter. He’s 21 years old now, but still going strong.
No, no, that’s quite alright… 🙂
I, on the other hand, would be more than happy to give them a happy home, Shing…
Woah. City of Heroes? COOL! My partner and i are avid players. And i’m a fan of your web comic as well 🙂
Haha! You used Sherlock! Very nice!
