Be proud of me. I managed to put this one off for over a month. Yes, this is among the first handful of script ideas that came to me, all those months ago in the middle of the night.
I stand by my work, and Score’s statements here (most of them, anyway) can be taken as a general idea of my policy on the matter for the foreseeable future. I could “work blue” easily enough, and anyone who knows me is aware that I’m well acquainted with several of George Carlin’s Seven Little Words. My personal challenge, here, is to see how funny I can manage to be without dipping into the big bag o’ cusswords. Let alone their obvious euphemisms.
Yet I managed, here, to make a very poor secret about which particular word I wasn’t entirely avoiding. There’s no point in having your cake if you can’t eat it, too.
Really, think about it. “You can’t have your cake and eat it, too” ranks among the stupidest turns of phrase ever to reach such a lofty status among trite aphorisms.
I digress. As usual.
At any rate, this one will still offend somebody. Anyone old enough to websurf unsupervised should be old enough to understand and laugh at what I’ve done here without it becoming some sort of big deal. Of course, “should” is one of my favorite words ever…
